3 dead, 2 injured in Negros Occidental road accidents

THREE persons died while two others were wounded in separate road accidents in Negros Occidental on December 25 and 26.

In Kabankalan City, a motorcycle driver was killed while his companion was hurt when their vehicle hit a truck loaded with sugarcane, parked beside the road at Purok Acacia, Barangay Tapi last Tuesday.

Police identified the fatality as Junarey Buenaflor, 31, of Barangay Pinaguinpinan.

Injured was Jayboy Caldo, 19, of Barangay Tagoc.

Records of Kabankalan City Police Station showed the motorcycle hit the rear of the truck parked in the area for two days due to mechanical trouble. It had no early warning device.

They were rushed to a hospital, where Buenaflor was pronounced dead.

The truck was driven by Jiben Flores, 28, of Barangay Tapi.

In Bago City, Bautista Pudna Jr., 34, of Barangay Maao died while motorcycle driver Junte Elisan, 22, of the same village, was injured.

Elisan lost control of the vehicle and hit a fence at Purok Helga, Barangay Don Jeorge Araneta around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

In La Castellana town, Errol de la Fuente, 45, of Barangay Zamora, Pontevedra town died after his motorcycle hit a stockpile at Hacienda Hanoban II, Barangay Sag-ang last Monday.

He succumbed to head injuries.
