Mendoza: Continue to do good, anyway

AS I have mentioned in my previous column, I have been following the one minute video of Nuseir Yassin, the Nas Daily.

In one of his video, he said, if it will not make a foreigner come to the Philippines, he will quit his job as a video blogger. Philippines is really a country where nature, people and affordability are the biggest asset that is why he declared that the Philippines is his favorite.

I even mentioned in my status in FB that the video he made about our country will make you prouder of our country.

A satirical video he created about Nelson Mandela of South Africa is also one of my personal favorites. Nas mentioned that Nelson Mandela, is one of the greatest person born in this world, his countrymen and including him believed that he is a hero for changing the world. Mandela fought for freedom and spent 27 years in jail in a prison cell or secluded island. His greatness made him the first President of South Africa. Nas noted that despite of his hard work and heroic deeds, there are still many who don’t like him because for them, what he did are not yet enough.

Sounds familiar.

According to Nas, this is very true for people who only see the world as black or white, when in fact, there is gray, complicated and hard, multicoloured. Which means, that even how hard you work for other people, how dedicated and concerned we are with their welfare, there will be hardened critics who will always find faults instead of looking for a chance to appreciate even our small deeds.

However, Mother Teresa of India said that even how cruel the people are, we need to do good to them, anyway.

Let us be guided by the golden rule, ‘Do unto others, what you want others do unto you. It is not you and them anyway, it is you and God. If our efforts will not be recognized here on earth, just don’t worry, we have a great Father who will reward us in heaven.

Just what President Duterte, said, if you cannot make other people happy, just don’t hurt them.

A blessed and prosperous new year to one and all.
