Woman killed, grandson injured in Carcar shooting incident

A 53-YEAR-OLD woman was killed while her four-year-old grandson was wounded on Tuesday afternoon, January 2, in a shooting incident in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City, Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Augustina Espinoza, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Her grandson, Kevin, was hit in the back. Espinoza was cradling the boy in the terrace when the shooting happened past 5 p.m.

The boy survived the attack and is now confined in a public hospital.

Investigation showed three men carried out the crime. One of them who was armed with a .45 pistol shot Espinoza several times.

The suspects located Espinoza after asking neighbors about the victim's house.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the murder.
