5 Lapu City Hall workers lose jobs for drug use

THE Lapu-Lapu City Government dismissed five City Hall employees late last month after they were found positive of drugs.

The move was part of Mayor Paz Radaza’s 2018 goal to clean City Hall of workers who are no longer effective in their jobs and those who are involved in illegal drugs.

In a press conference yesterday, Radaza said that four job-order workers and one casual worker tested positive of using prohibited drugs during a surprise drug test last Dec. 20.

She declined to identify the five workers but said they were from different departments.

City Hall has at least 4,000 employees, including the job-order workers. (FMG)
