Fugitive in Isabela City recaptured

GOVERNMENT authorities have recaptured an inmate who bolted from the detention cell of Isabela City Police Station last Tuesday, January 2, the police reported Thursday.

The police said Timhar Mapasi was recaptured in a manhunt operation around 8 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay North Gaunan, Maluso town, Basilan province.

The police said Mapasi escaped by cutting two steel bars of the detention cell after the accounting of inmates that was conducted around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Mapasi is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
