2 robbers victimize pastor

A CHURCH pastor from La Carlota City, Negros Occidental was robbed by two notorious robbers on Gatuslao Street in Barangay 1, Bacolod City Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias Jr., head of Police Station 2, withheld the name of the victim upon his request.

Villarias said the pastor was on his motorcycle when two unidentified men approached him and threatened him with an ice pick.

The two robbers declared a hold-up and carted away his cash amounting to P10,000 and $150, cellular phone, and identification cards.

Villarias said the pastor positively identified the suspects as Gerald Murillo and Joebert Villanueva, both of Purok Sto. Niño, Barangay 3, through the stations rogues’ gallery.

He added that both suspects were previously charged for robbery but were released from police custody after they were able to settle their offenses with the complainants. Murillo was also charged for illegal drugs in 2003.

Villarias said the victim will pursue robbery hold-up charges against the two suspects, who remained at-large.
