Malabor tops Provincial Board attendance

NEGROS Occidental Fifth District Board Member Renato Malabor Jr. topped the list of board members with the most number of attendance in last year’s Provincial Board sessions.

The youngest board member, who is in his mid-20’s, attended 48 of the 51 sessions held in 2017 with three non-attendance due to official business and travels, records released by Provincial Secretary Maki Angel Ascalon showed.

In second spot, Sixth District Board Member Pedro Zayco was present in 46 sessions with five official business activities and travels. He had been an acting vice governor once and a temporary presiding officer twice.

Both Second District Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. and Sixth District Board Member Helen Zafra were present in 45 sessions.

Escalante had five official business and travels while Zafra had six.

Records also showed that Escalante had been an acting governor once, acting vice governor thrice, and a presiding officer pro-tempore for four times.

Fourth District Board Member Jose Maria Alonso came next with a total attendance of 44, six official business and travels, and one record of on leave.

First District Board Member Rommel Debulgado followed with 43 sessions, but incurred one absence and missed seven others due to official business and travels.

First District Board Member Antonio Encarguez Sr. and Fourth District Board Member Victor Javellana both attended 41 sessions with 10 official business and travels.

Records further showed that presiding officer Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson was present in 40 sessions with five official business and travels and four records of on leave.

Lacson had been an acting governor twice last year.

Third District Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko and Association of Barangay Captain-Negros Occidental Chapter president Anabelle Bermudo tied with a total attendance of 39.

Bermudo registered 12 official business and travels while Ko had one record of on leave and 11 official business and travels.

Philippine Councilors’ League-Negros Occidental Chapter president Valentino Miguel Alonso was present in 38 sessions, but failed to attend 11 sessions due to official business and travels. He also incurred one leave and one absence.

Second District Board Member Samson Mirhan and Fifth District Board Member Alain Gatuslao both attended 37 sessions and missed 14 due to official business and travels.

Of the 15 members of the August body, Third District Board Member David Albert Lacson had the most number of non-attendance.

The board member was present in 25 sessions but recorded 22 official business and travels, three on leaves and one absence.
