Robbery suspect arrested

A MAN was arrested after he robbed a 24-year-old resident of Silay City, Negros Occidental on Gonzaga-Gatuslao Streets in Barangay 12, Bacolod City early Friday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Richard Calvin Soberano, 29, of Purok Yanson 2, Barangay Mandalagan.

Soberano robbed Glen Daniel Alibutdan, 24, of Purok Rosal, Barangay Guimbalaon at 1:45 a.m. Friday, January 5.

He carted away Alibutdanā€™s cellular phone.

Senior Inspector Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 1, said the victim saw the suspect sitting in a waiting shed on Gatuslao Street, prompting the police officers to conduct a follow-up operation.

Soberano was arrested at 1:30 p.m. and recovered from his possession a 10-inch bladed weapon.

Police failed to recover the stolen item from Soberano, who is detained at the station. (GYM)
