Woman shot dead in Mabalacat City

CAMP OLIVAS -- A 47-year-old woman was shot dead by a lone gunman inside her house in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, last Friday, January 5.

Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta, Pampanga police director, identified the fatality as Elsa Lingawlingaw, 47, a resident of Yap Park, Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.

Consulta said the gunman, who was wearing stripe red shirt, maong pants and bullcap, approached the victim inside and pretended to be a transient and looking for a room for rent.

The gunman then pulled out a .45-caliber pistol and shot Lingawlingaw several times on different parts of her body, he said.

The victim was immediately taken to Saint Raphael Hospital but died after a couple of minutes, Consulta said.

The Mabalacat police is looking into land dispute as motive behind the killing.

Consulta has ordered the chief of police of Mabalacat City police, Superintendent RUel Cagape, to identify and arrest the killer. (Ric Sapnu)
