Committed to provide healthier food options

GOING healthy maybe everyone’s goal this 2018, it probably is a New Year resolution common to us because who wouldn’t like to be healthy?

But with the easy-access fast food restaurants offering unhealthy and processed food, the #eatinghealthyfoodgoals has always become a force to reckon with, especially to the undisciplined and always-on-the-go urbanites.

Organic and healthy concept restaurants are always sunshine especially to those seeking for their healthy lifestyle journey. In Panabo City, Davao del Norte, an organic restaurant has committed to provide nothing but healthy and organic food to the public – the Aces Gromae Restaurant.

The restaurant is located at Barangay San Francisco, Inside Aces Farm Tourism Site, Panabo City.

The Aces Nature Farm is a prime agri-tourism destination that envisions to train farmers and community leaders who are advocates of sustainable farming to maximize productivity and ensure environmental protection.

“All we are offering here our organically grown. We have farm inputs, we have farm production, value-add and we process our own products,” doctor Frank dela Peña, an organic farming advocate and owner of the farm site and restaurant shared.

He said most of the ingredients in the menu are taken from his farm. It was in 2015 when they first announced the construction of the restaurant.

Some of the organic restaurant’s best sellers are its Blue Rice (rice cooked with blue ternatea), organic native chicken, organic lechon, humba, bangus, paksiw, tilapia, lettuce, cabbages, pizza, among others.

"Through this restaurant, we can widen the reach of our organic products therefore promoting healthy food and healthy lifestyle," he added.

The two-storey restaurant can cater some 100 customers at a time. For groups who wanted to dine, Dela Peña recommends that prior booking is preferred to avoid kitchen traffic and refrain from waiting.

Dela Peña also said that they are planning to also put up branches in Manila and Davao.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The Aces Nature Farm (where the restaurant is located), a four-hectare area, takes pride in organic lettuce production, red tilapia production, vermicast production, organic chicken production, organic hog production, and organic feeds production, among others.

Meanwhile, the Aces Natural Farming Institute is an accredited extension technology provider on Natural Farming by the Agricultural Training Institute of the Department of Agriculture.
