Sports events lined up for 44th Dinagsa Festival

IT WILL be a busy sporting week for Cadiz City when it stages numerous sports undertaking as part of the 44th Dinagsa Festival from January 13 to 28.

Hundreds of footballers will gather at the Bayabas Elementary School on January 13 when the two-day 7-A-Side Football Festival kicks off alongside Futsal Tournament at the Cadiz City Grandstand.

On January 20, the Mountain Bike Circuit Challenge dusts off at 6 a.m. while the two-day Frisbee event takes place at Bayabas Elementary School from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the Mayor Patrick G. Escalante Motocross Invitational and two-day Archery competition will be staged at the Reclamation Area and Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial National High School while the 44th Dinagsa Chess Tournament unfolds at 9 a.m. at the Cadiz Multi-Purpose Hall.

On January 26, the Paralympiada – an event for differently-abled persons will be staged at the Cadiz City Grandstand while the Acrobatic show will be held at 3 p.m. at the Cadiz City Arena.

Before the festival’s highlights on January 28, the 3rd Cadiz 21K Half Marathon will take the city’s roads on January 27 from 4 a.m., featuring 21K, 10K and 5K categories as the 4th Dinagsa Swim Competition splashes off at 8 a.m. at the Laura Seafront Resort. (HGD)
