ACD Warriors set to keep Ceap title

REIGNING champion Assumption College of Davao (ACD) Warriors will try to defend its Davao Association of Catholic Schools-Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (DACS-CEAP) title when the Davao City eliminations opens on Saturday at the Philippine Women’s College (PWC) Gym.

The Warriors will play against representatives from Tagum City and Digos City in the event that will serve as a qualifier for the CEAP Mindanao Finals slated January 31 to February 4 in Tagum City.

But ACD head coach Rollie Sancho said they are only 50 percent ready.

However, they will still try their best to defend the title, saying: "We will give them a good game."

Sancho will lean on his junior high school division 1 squad spearheaded by BJ Sumogat and AJ Royo.

ACD Warriors is also set to compete in the upcoming Basketball Avenue Champions League that will start on Sunday.

Sancho said they will don the Ariera Fresh Fruits Corporation colors and will test their mettle against commercial B players.

"We will just gain experience in this league," Sancho said who expects a higher level of competition.

Their first game will be against Phenom Lifestyle at 2 p.m. at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Activity Center.
