2,400 business firms in Davao renew permits

THE Davao City Business Bureau recorded a total of 2,418 business establishments that renewed their business permits from January 2 until last Tuesday, January 9.

During the third week of December, the Business Bureau announced their schedules for business permit renewal to be done in the City Council Building and Almendras Gym (originally NCCC Mall Kadayawan Hall). Out of this total number, more than 2,000 renewal applications were received at Almendras Gym and about 397 were at the applications at the city council building.

The business bureau expects more applications by the next week as businesses are still expected to be finishing their applications and certifications from the different regulatory boards in the city.

They have yet to extract data for the number of new business establishments applying for business permits from January 2 to 9.

By January 20, the last day of business permit application, they target a total of 50,000 business establishments to have renewed and applied for new permits. In 2017, there was a recorded total of 41,164 businesses with permits in the city.

Business Bureau officer-in-charge attorney Marissa Torentera, in an earlier interview, called on to business owners in the city to not wait for the last minute to have their permits renewed.

The remaining schedules for business permit renewal and new permit application are as follows: January 11 to 12 (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.); January 13 and 14 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.); January 15 to 19 (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.); January 20 (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.).

These schedules will be observed both in Almendras Gym and the City Council Building.
