ONE person died while two others, including a child, were hurt in a highway accident in Manukan town, Zamboanga del Norte province, the police reported Tuesday.
The Zamboanga del Norte police identified the fatality as Calvin Santander, 57, who died before reaching the Rural Health Unit.
Wounded and injured were Rico Santander, 30, Calvin's son, and his nephew, James Aron Omisol, 9. Both were hospitalized.
The police said the victims were riding a motorcycle that crashed on the pavement around 5:15 p.m. Monday along the highway in the village of San Antonio, Manukan, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Investigation showed the victims were traveling from the village of Villaramos to San Antonio when the accident happened after Rico lost control of the motorcycle when its tire suddenly slipped.
