(UPDATED) -- Four suspected drug pushers were caught on Tuesday night, January 16, in separate drug busts in Cebu City and Liloan, Cebu.
Seized from the suspects were P116,500 worth of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu.”
In Lower Centro in Barangay Pit-os, Cebu City, a 26-year-old man, who caters illegal drugs to students, was wounded in a shootout with the police at 6 p.m.
One of the anti-narcotics operatives, Police Officer 2 Ever Aneslagon, was injured when he grappled with the suspect. The wound, though, was not
caused by a bullet.
Senior Inspector Arieza Otida, Talamban Police Station chief, identified
the suspect as Elmer "Imong" Ollamas, who yielded five packs of shabu worth more P57,500.
Operatives also seized 4.7 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, P1,500 cash believed to be the suspect's proceeds, a .357 revolver, two bullets and a fired shell.
Forty-five minutes later, two men were caught in Purok Tambis, Barangay Yati, Liloan, Cebu.
Operatives led by Chief Inspector Randy Korret, the town police commander, seized a gram of shabu worth P11,800 from suspects Connie Gravador Catayas and Melljon Tuto Catayas.
Korret said Connie had been identified as a high-value target, while Melljon has a pending theft case before Mandaue City Regional Trial Court Branch 55.
In Sitio Tabay Lawom in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan, Korret's team arrested Jay-R Ace Marinduque Daitol, 31, at 9 p.m.
Suspect yielded four grams of shabu worth P47,200.
