‘Pusher’ killed in drug bust

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killed after he allegedly tried to shoot it out with operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) in a buy-bust in Barangay Tubod, Toledo City yesterday afternoon.

The PIB team led by Supt. Rodolfo Albotra Jr. also rescued a 17-year-old Filipino-German girl who was allegedly used by drug suspect Wilson Villanueva as a “sex slave.”

Villanueva died from multiple gunshot wounds in his body.

SPO1 Rey Solante said his team rescued Louise (real name withheld), 17, inside Villanueva’s house.

The girl’s mother has been taken into custody for further investigation.

“We will look if she has any liability for letting her daughter live with a drug pusher,” said Solante in Cebuano.

The PIB team seized five big and one medium packs of suspected shabu worth more than P271,000, an Ingram machine pistol, .45 pistol, drug paraphernalia and bullets from Villanueva.

The firearms will be submitted for ballistic examination to determine the real owners.

“He is the biggest drug dealer in Toledo City,” said Solante.

Last July, Villanueva eluded arrest after a team from the Toledo City Police Station tried to capture him in Tubod.

PO1 Marvin Tundag of Pinamungajan Police Station was investigated after he was seen in Villanueva’s house. The police officer also escaped arrest.

Police recently collared Villanueva’s nephew over drug charges.

Solante said they placed Villanueva under surveillance for more than a month.

“He was so elusive,” he said.

Solante said Villanueva was often seen traveling to Negros. He could be selling illegal drugs or he would get his supplies there, added Solante.

Louise, an out-of-school youth, also reportedly accompanied Villanueva in the illegal drug trade.

“She learned to sniff shabu from the suspect,” said Solante.

The girl was turned over to a social worker to undergo stress debriefing and counseling.

In Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 arrested a drug den owner and five suspected junkies last Saturday.

PDEA 7 Director Jeffrey Bangsa said the team seized 31 sachets of shabu estimated to be P600,000.

Bangsa said that the operation against suspected drug den operator Mario Campil Sacedo was authorized by a court-issued search warrant.

Arrested along with Sacedo were alleged illegal drug users Jomyl Calderon Gallardo, 28; Clifton Bas Billones, 36; Merlito Labateda Segara, 40; Martin Paolou Yap Regidor, 19; and Joven Mabute Luna, 28.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
