Nueva Ecija guv offers P1-M bounty for killers of aide

NUEVA Ecija Governor Czarina Umali offered on Friday, January 19, a P1-million reward for any information on the gunman or gunmen who killed her secretary, May Anne Guvarra-Hernandez last Sunday.

Umali said the money will come from the governor's personal fund.

Earlier, Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez of Talavera town offered P200,000 for the same purpose.

Hernandez, 38, resident of Barangay Pag-asa, Talavera was killed by unidentified armed men early evening Sunday.

Her husband, Carlito, was wounded in the attack.

Umali has said they will see to it that justice will be served to Hernandez whom she described to be like a family member.

"Hindi kami titigil hanggat hindi namin nakakamit ang katarungan sa marahas na pagpaslang sa kanya," Umali said.

Senior Supt. Eliseo Tanding, Nueva Ecija police director, said they are looking into all possible angles and the culprits behind the killing.
