NBI-Semro eyes 3 clearance stations

THE National Bureau of Investigation-Southern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-Semro) is planning to establish three clearance processing stations in the region to serve more applicants.

NBI-Semro director lawyer Mario Francisco Tonelete said the bureau is already negotiating with the national office for them to put up clearance processing stations in Samal, Sulop, and Malita.

Tonelete said the bureau aims to cater more applicants in other areas to address the congestion outside their office. He added that over 100 applicants are processing their clearance daily.

"In fact, we already have noted 800 applicants scheduled for clearance processing from January to March this year. Sa dami nila, binago rin namin yung oras for clearance processing," Tonelete said.

He said the office caters applicants starting at 7 a.m. from Mondays to Fridays instead of 8 a.m. and cuts off incoming applicants at 4:30 p.m. Aside from putting up three clearance processing station, Tonelete said, the bureau will also request five computers from the national office for the walk-in applicants to avail free online registration.

"Yung iba kasi galing pa sa ibang probinsya, may mga ilan sa kanila hindi marunong ng online registration, at least dito pwede silang matulongan ng staff namin kung paano mag register online," he said.

The NBI has already clearance processing station in Mati City, Digos City, and in Bansalan town. It has a district office in Tagum City, which operates for clearance processing and crime investigation.
