THE Zamboanga City Government announced that it is now accepting applications for the 12th Roseller T. Lim Award.

Dubbed as the Five Outstanding Zamboangueño Youth Leaders (Fozyl), the award is open to Zamboangueños from 18 to 40 years old.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the applicants must have been born and raised in Zamboanga City, or has been a resident of the city for at least 10 years.

Applicants to the award must be of excellent moral character without any record of criminal conviction and must be an outstanding young leader who is contributing to the cause of humanity.

Salazar said the deadline for application is on January 25.

Five outstanding Zamboangueños will be chosen on the merit of their application, which will include an accomplished application form, birth certificate or barangay certificate, and documented proof of their engagements and civic activities.

The awardees will receive a plaque of recognition and P5,000 each.

Spearheaded by the local government of Zamboanga and the JCI Zamboanga, the Fozyl is in line with the celebration of the Dia de Roseller T. Lim, in commemoration of a great leader, civil servant, and the first Zamboangueño elected into the Philippine Senate. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
