Soldier, 2 others nab in anti-drug ops

THREE people, including a soldier and a village official, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations here in the region, the police reported Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Corporal Lehamber Acosta, 31; Dante Rebollos, 23, a village treasurer; and, Wawie Mohmina, 18.

Galvez said Acosta was arrested in a drug bust around 1 a.m. Monday in the village of Tuburan, Pagadian City.

Galvez said Acosta is assigned with the First Signal Battalion, Army Signal Regiment in Basilan province.

She said confiscated from Acosta’s possession were one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu; P1,000 marked money consisting of two P500 bills; and, illegal drug paraphernalia.

She said Rebollos was arrested around 3:15 p.m. Monday in the village of Poblacion, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Rebollos is the treasurer of the village of San Roque, Payao town.

Seized from his possession was one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu and P300 marked money consisting of three P100 bills.

Galvez said Mohmina was arrested around 5 p.m. Monday in the village of Zone III, Zamboanga City.
