AFTER a weekend of tough mind battle, winners of the Cadiz Knights Chess Club (CKCC) Rapid Chess Tournament were named.
Aeron Keif Charles Sinining scored 5.5 points to capture the 16 and under boys title as R-VY James Saldavia and Clark Ken Pelione scored 4.5 points to settle for second and third places, respectively.
Kenneth Allen Ballo-allo alongside Tyrone Dale Yao and John Laurence Tabotabo scored 4.0 points to finish in fourth to sixth places followed by Jamon Cajeras, Lhiam Andrie Lingco, Joshua Villaran and Jose Charles Montalvo.
Meanwhile, Natorri Biazza Diaz registered 5.0 points to triumph in the 16 and under girls followed by Manilyn Cabungcag (5.0), Divine Joyce Sarabia (4.5), Aera Kerl Charm Sinining (4.0), and Elaine Joyce Santiago (3.5).
For the 12 and under boys, Christian Pelione scored 6.0 points to claim the crown while Leorich Phi Garcia and John Paul Melivo settled with 5.0 points to end up in second and third places, respectively.
Euza Mae Toremoro scored 6.0 points to win the 12 and under girls as Jamelin Ruth Lim and Jasmine Atienza scored 4.5 points to finish in second and third places.
The tournament, which was part of the city’s annual Dinagsa Festival, aimed to provide Negrenses chess players the venue to further enhance their chess skills and strengthen the bond of both players and coaches for better and strong chess community in our province. (HGD)
