NOT just one but three ladies will be crowned as the Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2016 and will vie in the prestigious national competitions next year, said the beauty pageant's committee head Alex Somcio.
Somcio said the candidates will compete for the crown as Miss Iloilo Dinagyang Philippines who will get to join in the Miss Earth competition, Miss Iloilo Dinagyang Heritage for the national competition, and Miss Iloilo Dinagyang Aliwan for the search for Reina ng Aliwan Festival.
Aside from the crown and plaques, the winners will receive P50,000, P30,000, and P20,000 cash prize, respectively, while two consolation winners will receive P10,000 each.
Somcio said this year’s Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2016 candidates are: Angelyn Magahum, 23; Pauline Rose Gerochi, 23; Jhoanne Tanada, 22; Japril Maquiling, 18; Karla Beverly Tan, 20; Vanessa Ann Caro, 18; Jeanyfer Ozbot, 21; Janielle Gracie Miranda, 18; and Janine May Coo, 22.
The ladies will be introduced during a launching at SM City Iloilo new wing on November 21.
The event will be followed by a pre-pageant Fantasy Make-up Competition at Robinsons Place on November 28, and a presentation and fashion show at the Robinson Place Antique on December 5.
A pre-pageant Casual Wear Competition at Robinsons Place Iloilo is set to be held on December 10, Pamukaw Parade on December 11, outreach at Asilo de Molo on December 19, Roxas City presentation and fashion show Robinsons Place on December 20, and pre-pageant Talent Competition at Robinsons Place Iloilo on December 21.
Another fashion show will be held at SM City new wing on January 3, 2016, Dinagyang opening salvo on January 8, pre-pageant Festival Costume at SM new wing on January 9, pre-pageant Parade of Beauties and Swimwear competition at the Esplanade on January 16, Pageant and Coronation Night on January 20 at the University of San Agustin gym, fluvial parade on January 22, and Dinagyang Festival 2016 Parade on January 24.
The Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2016 highlights the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival every fourth week of January every year.
