14,114 biz permit applications in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division has registered a total of 14,114 business permit applications from January 3 to 22 this year.

Division head Stela Rose Rayos said Wednesday the Business One-Stop-Shop (Boss) is still ongoing and they already encoded a total of 14, 114 business permit applications.

So far, the Permits and Licensing Division has issued a total of 2,827 business permits.

“The one-stop-shop is a big help to accommodate the business permit applicants processing their requirements at the Bacolod Government Center, especially for barangay clearance, City Health Office (CHO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) permits, among others,” Rayos said.

She said the steps in the processing of business permits have been reduced to only three from the previous five.

Of the 61 villages, only Barangay 4 failed to join the one-stop-shop.

The City Council had earlier approved the extension of the one-stop-shop and deadline of payment for business permit from January 20 to February 28.

Rayos said that after the one-stop-shop, the joint inspection team composed of CHO, BFP, Office of the Building Official, Zoning Office, City Treasurer's Office, and Environment and Natural Resources Office will be deployed to check and verify the business permits of business establishments in various barangays.

Rayos noted that last year, they registered a total of 22,000 businesses.

She said she is hopeful that the number of business permit applications will increase this year.
