City of San Fernando to use P2.4-M PCF for day care center

CITY of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago said Wednesday, January 24, that the City Government will use the P2.4-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) it received from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the construction of a much needed day care center in Barangay Del Pilar.

The PCF is an incentive from the DILG, awarded to the city for winning the Seal of Good Local Governance anew.

“We will see to it, as we have always done, that such incentives like the PCF go to essential projects. For this time, it will be allocated for the construction of a day care center in Barangay Del Pilar as part of our advocacy in promoting early child care development and providing education for Fernandinos, especially the young,” Santiago said.

The PCF check was handed to Santiago by DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Fabia at the City Mayor’s Office.

Also present during the awarding were Councilor BJ Lagman, DILG City Director Engr. Algy Canlas, City Administrator Engr. Fernando Limbitco, Mayor’s Chief of Staff Engr. Remedios Agoncillo, City Health Officer Dr. Eloisa Aquino, City Accountant Ma. Gisel Rivera and City Treasurer Mary Ann Bautista. (JTD)
