AIMING to attract younger customers, Honda Philippines unveiled its big bike collection at the showroom of their flagship shop yesterday.
“Now, our market is for the youth, especially in the metro or semi-metro areas,” said Honda Philippines Inc. president Daiki Mihara, who officially opened the showroom yesterday.
Mihara said they hope to move up from the days when they were known for their smaller motorbike models, which are popular models for public transportation such as tricycles, especially in the rural areas. Mihara noted that they have been in the Philippines for 45 years.
However, he said that now, they have decided to improve the Honda brand by offering it to a new generation of motorbike enthusiasts through the Honda Big Bikes models.
The Honda Big Bikes Showroom holds some of the monstrous rides Honda has concocted for its growing community of bikers.
Over eight big bikes stand plush in the showroom, with prices ranging from P300,000 to P800,000and mid-range bikes for P459,000.
The Big Bikes are divided into four categories: roadster, sport/racer, traveler, and new adventurer, fitting the lifestyle and personality of today’s riders.
According to Jason a Elises, the head of product planning, said their motorbike differ from other brands because of these categories. “We fit our bikes to different kinds of usage, personalities, for any kinds of occasion.” These bikes feature Honda’s state-of-the-art machinery, modern features and ragged posh detailing.
Honda is also set to unveil two new models, the CB1100EX and CBR100RR Fireblade, this year.
The big bikes were first introduced in Manila last month.
The Cebu showroom is open for daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Tessa Frances T. Aguilar, USJ-R Intern)
