More than hundred teams sign up for Rosevale Cup

IT’s all systems go for the 13th Rasevale School Cup football festival on Saturday, January 27, at the school’s football pitch here in uptown Xavier Estates.

Organizer and Rosevale head coach Dennis Bongocan announced that a total of 108 teams in eight categories have beaten the deadline last January 24.

Hostilities start right after the 7 a.m. opening ceremony.

Teams joining in the Mixed U9 are Rosevale School teams A and B, Nikkie Parents AFC, Davao Hyenas, OLLES FC, South Shield, 3KM Trucking, New Camp, Monte Carlo FC, ABBAS teams A and B, and Bulua Strikers.

In the Mixed U11 teams are Rosevale School, Celestial FA teams A and B, Davao Hyenas, OLLES FC, Del Monte School, New Camp FC, La Famiglia FC, Iligan Medical Center College, Abbas Ridgebacks, and Bulua Strikers.

The Boys U 13 division has the biggest number of participants with 20. They are Rosevale School teams A and B, Dumingag FC, Mikkie Parents AFC, Pagatpat Elementary School, GAFC teams A and B, Lorogan Lions, Iligan Medical Center College, Holy Cross High School, OLLES FC, Higala Camp FC, New Camp FC, Monte Carlo FC, Opol FC, La Famiglia FC, Abbas Ridgebacks, Bulua Strikers, and West City Central School.

In the Boys U15 category, teams joining are Rosevale School teams A and B, Crocs Pangil, Crocs Lolong, GAFC teams A and B, Bulua Strikers, Nikkie Parents AFC, Holy Cross HS teams A and B, Lorogan Lions, First Fruits, La Famiglia, FC, Davao Hyenas, Iligan Medical Center College, and Abbas Ridgebacks.

Sxiteen teams have signed up for the Boys U 17, twelve teams in the Boys U19 and surprisingly 20 teams have signed for the Girls U 18.

The tournament is a project of the Rosevale School administration to raise funds for its sports program. Winners will get trophies and medals. Special awards will also be given to the top players, like the Most Valuable Player, Best Defender, Best Striker, Best Goalkeeper and Top Scorer in each category.

Meanwhile, the Rosevale School football parents donated a lawn mower just in time for the last minute preparation of the tournament.

Rosevale directress Emma Rose Quimbo and school official Brylle Dadang received the mower from football parents, Marlon and Marlene Casas, Jeff Cascara, Jack Biantan and Charles and Menchu Dy.
