CHARGES were filed before the Davao City Prosecution Office (CPO) on Thursday against a suspected notorious illegal drug pusher arrested in a drug-bust operation at Teacher’s Village in Calinan, Davao City on January 24, Wednesday.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, is Alvin Camelotes Lampano, 34, fish vendor, resident of Purok 24, Teacher’s Village in Calinan District.

Lampano is also facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 10591 or The Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition after he was found possessing a short firearm during the drug-bust operation.

Record obtained from the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (Pdea) 11 revealed that the suspect was arrested at about 3:55 p.m. Wednesday at Purok 24, after he sold a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.

The operation was conducted by Pdea-Davao along with the personnel of the Calinan Police Station, following the surveillance earlier conducted against the suspect.

Pdea-Davao regional director Antonio Rivera said the suspect was tagged as Davao’s Top 8 drug personality busted in Davao City, adding that the suspect had been distributing and administering illegal drugs for quite some time already.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect were three plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, P500 drug-bust money, and caliber.38 revolver with live ammunition.

The suspect is currently detained at the Pdea-Davao jail facility, while the seized suspected illegal drugs are placed at the Laboratory Service of the office for qualitative and quantitative examination.
