Soldiers, PDEA seize P400-T shabu, guns and bullets

JOINT military and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives have arrested an alleged big time drug pusher and seized P400,000 worth of illegal drugs and guns in the province of Maguindanao, a top military official said Saturday.

Major General Arnel Dela Vega, Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, identified the arrested suspects as Datu Daffi, who is alleged involved in the trade of illegal drugs in Maguindanao area.

Dela Vega said Daffi was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11 a.m. Friday in the village of Capiton, Datu Odin Sinsuat town.

Dela Vega said the arresting team seized from the suspect 6.4 grams of suspected shabu packed in three plastic sachets worth P400,000; two caliber .45 pistols; a 9-millimeter pistol; a caliber .22 rifle; and, assorted ammunition.

He said the suspect was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him.

He ensured that the respective units of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division will attune its efforts in upholding the advocacy of President Rodrigo Duterte in its anti-drug campaign. - Bong Garcia
