Liga ng mga Barangay to handle more SRB stalls

MORE stalls for the Liga ng mga Barangay (League of Barangays) will be seen in Session Road in Bloom (SRB), an annual trade event that is among the highlights of the Panagbenga Festival.

Liga president and Councilor Michael Lawana said the proposal of the group has been approved by the council and is just awaiting the signature of Mayor Mauricio Domogan.

The Liga has asked to handle streets during the festival next month expanding the Assumption and Perfecto streets they annually handle to include Calderon, portions of Lower Session Road from Mabini/Session Road Intersection downwards plus portions of governor pack and the post office loop.

The approval means the Liga will be in charge of the administration, management and supervision of the areas.

The revenue generated from the Liga activity will be used in the clean and green and peace and order programs of the organization which represent the 128 barangays of the city.

On its normal days, Session Road is home to over 200 business establishments, during the SRB over 100 stalls gather for the yearly pilgrimage to the Mountain City, primarily to make profit, to promote and to be part of the festivities.

During the Baguio Flower Festival, the road is transformed into a center for activity.

SRB is a venue for new businesses to take center stage and allow locals to promote their up and coming ventures. It is a convergence of unique finds.

This year’s Baguio Flower Festival is themed “Celebration of Culture and Creativity” in line with the recent distinction received by the Pine City for the fusion and creativity of the festival.
