ADVERSITIES are gateway to opportunities. This is what MyRophe's (pronounced as My-Ra-Fa's) Trading and Company proprietress realized when she conceived the idea of producing Master's Blend health drinks.
"It was at the height of Bagyong Yolanda. I was thinking, after my other business was affected, what should I do?" Ms. Z, as she is fondly called by her friends and staff, recalled. Since she is a resident of Metro Manila, her business there was affected by Yolanda.
Her parents were pure Bol-anons but her family is now living in Davao City.
She acknowledged a friend for bringing the idea of making healthy drinks.
"She told me, why not produce healthy drinks since these do not demand a huge amount for capital," she recalled.
Now, Master's Blend is enjoying brisk sales of its three healthy drinks, namely, Premium 8-in-1 Coffee, 8-in-1 Healthy Choco Drink and Turmeric Herbal Tea.
Why Master's Blend? "I am a Christian, and I believe that God, as our Master, blends all of these."
What sets apart Master's Blend from other health drinks available in the market today is the ingredients its health drinks contain.
"They are pure organic, I should know because we are the ones who manufacture our health drinks, we are the ones who process these," Ms Z said.
She said they sourced their ingredients from organic farms and all their health drinks are made of pure and organic ingredients as they themselves mix these at their plant in Manila.
"Our coffee beans are sourced from Vietnam," she said, adding that this is what makes their coffee extra special because they don't settle for mediocre class of coffee beans.
She also proudly said that their chocolate comes from the US, from Hershey's company, although she is not belittling our chocolate producers here in the country. "Gamayra man gudangnaga-produce og chocolate diri, maonaga-source out pakosagawas," she said.
Their Premium 8-in-1 Coffee, aside from coffee as its main ingredients, is also composed of, among others, Agaricus mushroom, mangosteen, green tea, sucralose, non-dairy creamer, and L-carnitine.
All of these have health benefits that complement that of the coffee's.
Meanwhile, their 8-in-1 Healthy Choco Drink is purely made of high-grade cocoa powder that is sourced all the way from the US. While some choco drinks are added with peanuts to boost its weight content, Ms Z shared that they only add ingredients that are mainly healthy and nutritious.
Aside from the ingredients mentioned above, their 8-in-1 choco drink has also ginseng that boosts our immune system and energy. It also lowers LDL or bad cholesterol in the body.
For their Turmeric Herbal Tea, Ms Z shared that the sourced its main ingredient at a far-flung sitio in Toril, Davao City.
Turmeric is known for its many health benefits. In fact, it is one of the most effective nutritional supplements in existence, according to studies.
Their turmeric tea is also composed of ginger, calamansi and lemongrass, among others. All have essential nutrients and health benefits to our body.
"You will see the difference of our turmeric tea because when you rub your hands with this (referring to Master's Blend Turmeric Herbal Tea), your palms will turn yellow, a proof that it is really made of pure turmeric roots," Ms. Z shared.
She also shared that she registered the brand under MyRophe's Trading and Company because her first grandchild is named Rophe.
"Rophe comes from the bible, meaning healer. MyRophe means My Healer," she added.
