THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Monday commended two police stations and two policemen for their performance in the anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug campaigns.
Awarded certificates of commendation were Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 9; Senior Police Officer 4 Arlyn Torrendon, officer-in-charge of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD); Police Officer 3 Wilfredo Perez of Police Station 1; and Police Officer 2 Amie Rose Tabaldo of Police Station 7.
The awarding rites led by Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, officer-in-charge of BCPO, was held at the headquarters during the flag- raising rites Monday morning.
Also present were Superintendent Victorino Romanillos, deputy city director for administration, and Superintendent Alexander Ermeo, deputy city director for operations.
Police Station 9 was commended for the conduct of drug bust at Purok Bayanihan II, Barangay Punta Taytay that led to the arrest of Celso Alvarez, and confiscation of four sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and the P400 marked money.
Police Station 7 also recognized for the successful conduct of follow-up operation that resulted to the apprehension of John Rey Pila of Purok Angela Gonzaga, Barangay Vista Alegre for violation of Republic Act 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
Torrendon’s follow-up operation to arrest a rape suspect in Barangay Taculing was acknowledged by BCPO.
Perez received a commendation after he led the follow-up operation that resulted to the arrest of John Don Decena of Purok Mapinalanga-on, Barangay 35 for robbery.
Ebreo commended the personnel of all 10 police stations for their accomplishments in a span of three days, with 20 persons arrested over the weekend for illegal drugs and illegal gambling.
This is the positive outcome of our combined determination to perform our duties and responsibilities as expected to us by the people of Bacolod City, he said.
