The water service interruption will give way to improvement works in preparation for the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project of DCWD, which upon completion in 2019 will improve water supply in Davao City.

The improvement works to be done include the tapping of the newly installed pipelines to the existing pipelines at Tulip Drive corner Gen. McArthur Highway, Ma-a Road corner Gen. McArthur Highway, and Acacia St. in Juna Subdivision corner Gen. McArthur Highway, and interconnection of the newly installed pipeline to the existing pipeline at Ecoland Drive corner Times Beach.

Also to be done are preventive maintenance works, such as replacement of butterfly valve at Talomo Sump Compound and at McArthur Highway corner Lanzona Subdivision, replacement of gate valve at McArthur Highway corner Lopez Village Balusong Matina, and installation of isolation valve at Dumoy Production Well 2 and 3.

General manager Engr. Edwin Regalado said with the completion of the tapping and interconnection works, the excavated pavements along Gen. McArthur Highway and Ecoland Drive will then be scheduled for restoration for the convenience of the general public.

On behalf of the DCWD management, he also asked for the understanding and cooperation of the would-be affected customers.

Residents of the areas to be affected were also advised to store water in clean and covered containers, as water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

The general public may visit the DCWD website and official Facebook page, or call the Central Information Unit/Call Center through the 24 hour hotline 297-DCWD (3293) and press "1" on their phone dial for the latest daily water updates.
