IT MAY come as no surprise to you that I really love desserts. They are sweet, sinful, and a major stress reliever.
Last year, I was able to try lots of really great desserts from our local shops in Davao City; some I have written about and others I will just be featuring now.
It was not easy trimming down this list and I had a lot of favorites. After some internal debate, I have decided on my five favorite desserts from last year:
Confex& Co. Bakehouse's Ube Leche Flan Cake
Ube and leche flan is not a pairing I have had before. So when I discovered Confex& Co. Bakehouse's Ube Leche Flan Cake during last year's Chocolate Festival at SM City Davao, I was pleasantly surprised of how delicious it was. I love how the ube cake and the leche flan in between tasted great together. It may sound very sweet but personally, I think the sweetness is just right.
Annipie'sDulce de Leche Cheesecake
I immediately fell in love with Annipie's Dulce de Leche Cheesecake after I took a bite of it. The cheesecake tasted great and it was beautiful too. I have nothing else to say about the dish but it is simply delicious.
Lara Mia's Trianon
Hands down, Lara Mia's Trianon has got to be the best peanut butter and chocolate cake I have ever had. I love the crunch I got from the peanut butter crunch at the base of the cake.
Lachi's Davao Durian Cheesecake
There are a number of durian-flavored desserts in Davao City but I think my favorite has to be Lachi's Davao Durian Cheesecake. I just love the balance between the durian and the cream cheese as they do not overpower each other.
Lemonwood Cafe's brownie cups
When Boxed Up opened, Lemonwood Cafe was serving ensaymada and other coffee and non-coffee beverages during their first few days of opening. However, as the days go on, they started serving these brownie cups, which comes in different flavors like Reese's, Cookies and Cream, and Lemon Curd. Whatever flavor I chose, the brownie cups are always delicious. I just love how moist they are and each flavor is always a joy to eat.
