Jailed cop in solitary for initiating lewd sex show

POLICE Officer 3 (PO3) Alejandro Ubanan, one of the five Cagayan de Oro City policemen accused of kidnapping Enrique Fernandez III in 2016, is in the news again.

This time around for alleged sex scandal inside the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ).

The jailed cop reportedly initiated lewd sexual conduct inside the detention cell, involving a gay and one midget inmate in exchange of greased money.

“Talikod nga tirada lalake sa lalake dili gyod maayo nga talan-awon,” barked one local radio anchorman on Tuesday morning.

Such misconduct has prompted MOPJ warden Dominador Tagarda to lock PO3 Ubanan in an isolation cell (bartolina) for seven days.

Jail officials also cancelled his visit privileges for three months as part of disciplinary action.

The midget and gay inmates, who were accused of homicide and robbery, respectively, also faced similar sanction.

"Giisa-isa nato sila pag bartolina ug atong giuna si Ubanan ug nahuman na niya atong Monday. Giapil nato ang duha ka piniriso kay ngano niuyon sila kang Ubanan," Tagarda said.

He said the disciplinary board had looked into the incident after receiving reports from other inmates more than a week ago.

Tagarda said Ubanan gave the midget P200 out of compassion. But, the MOPJ chief said the board did not favor Ubanan's defense.

The disciplinary board is composed of prison cell leaders and other religious advisers inside the detention facility.

"Iya raman tong rason nga nalooy siya aron malihis ang istorya kay naa man nakakita sa iyang gibuhat," Tagarda said.

Tagarda said Ubanan was found to have been committing immoral activities which stains the image of MOPJ.

"Usa ka immoral ang iyang gihimo ug dili makatarunganon. Nakahatag kinig kahugaw sa atong bilangguan nga unta gani wala na kitay droga dinhi," Tagarda said.

He said the jail officials condemned the actions of Ubanan, adding that it was the first time that it happened in MOPJ.

Tagarda has advised all inmates to uphold human dignity and morality and respect for human rights.

"Bisan og piniriso nga wala pa napamatud-i nga sad-an o dili, kinahanglan nga dunay respeto ug likayan ang paghimo sa mga immoral nga aktibidad," Tagarda added.

Ubanan was transferred from the city jail in Barangay Lumbia to MOPJ in December, last year.

"Allegedly mao pud daw na iyang ginabuhat sa city jail maong gakasilutan siya," Tagarda added.
