Global Cebu inks Uzoka

GLOBAL Cebu FC adds another young player in a very busy transfer window.

Global Cebu FC officially inked 19-year-old forward Chima Uzoka yesterday from Ilocos United FC, which won’t participate in this year’s Philippines Football League (PFL) season.

Global Cebu FC has had a total of seven signings in the transfer window after losing some of its key players last year.

The Cebuano club lost winger Hikaru Minegishi, skipper Misagh Bahadoran, ace defender Amani Aguinaldo and Dennis Villanueva.

Global Cebu FC, however, signed up young players to bolster their 2018-2019 season. The decorated club got the likes of 19-year-old Cebuano defender Jordan Jarvis from Davao Aguilas FC, former FC Meralco players Jinggoy Valmayor, Florencio Badelic Jr., Daniel Gadia, Curt Dizon and Lee Jeongmin.

The new-look Global Cebu FC recently had a friendly against Malaysian second division club Sabah FA. Global Cebu FC outclassed Sabah FA, 5-1.

Global FC finished as runner-up in the inaugural PFL season after losing to Ceres Negros FC, 4-1, in Bacolod City. (EKA)
