December 2017 inflation rate in Davao at 4.1%

THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that Davao Region's inflation rate in December 2017 remains the same at 4.1 percent (%) from November 2017.

In their report, PSA said the steady inflation rate in the region remains steady with the slight increase of alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.1% in December from 5.2% in November 2017); food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.1% from 4.7%); furnishing, household equipment, and routine maintenance of the house (4.1% from 3.1%); and recreation and culture (2.5% from 2.1%).

The also agency reported slower increments were observed for housing, water, electrcity gas, and other fuels (3.7% from 4.8%); health (3.5% from 3.7%); and transport (2.6% from 3.7%).

Meanwhile, clothing and footwear (3.9%), education (2.7%), restaurant and miscellaneous goods and services (1.5%), and communication (0.3%) retained its November 2017 rates.

Davao Oriental posted the highest inflation rate in the region for 2017 at 4.7% from 3.4% in 2016. Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur's inflation increased to 4.1% from 3.3%. However, PSA 11 reported that inflation rate in Compostela Valley dropped to 3.8% from 4%.
