A DRUG suspect was killed during a joint anti-illegal drug operation on January 31 along San Rafael Road, Ma-a, Davao City.
Based on a report from Talomo Police Station, the target of the drug bust was alias Jamel. The operation was conducted around 4:30 p.m.
The suspect allegedly resisted arrest and pulled out his gun, prompting the police to shoot him.
The suspect was immediately rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) but was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.
Authorities confiscated from Jamel more or less 35 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrocholride (shabu) worth P125,000, one Mac-10 machine pistol chamber loaded with four live ammunition of 9mm, and P1,000 cash.
In a separate operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed two drug suspects who were selling illegal drugs around 1:30 p.m. of January 31.
The PDEA agents arrested the suspects in one of the inns located on Quimpo Boulevard in Matina, Davao City.
The suspects were identified as Ramel Labregas, 34, a resident of Trading Boulevard, Davao City, and Mae Ann Casicnan alias Madam/Mae Ann, 27, a resident of Pagatpat Street, Phase 1, Sandawa, Davao City.
The suspects were arrested for selling one small sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to an operative who acted as poseur-buyer.
The operatives recovered a small plastic sachet with shabu residue, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.
The suspects were placed under the custody of PDEA-Davao. The seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted for examination.
Charges are being readied against the suspects for violating Section 26 in relation to Section 5, Section 11 and Section 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
