7 wanted fall in joint raid

SEVEN persons with standing warrants of arrest were arrested while a total of 1,449 residents in different barangays were invited for questioning and profiling during the Joint Anti-Criminality Operations dubbed as Oplanb Bulabog Friday morning, February 2.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Ma. Teresita Gaspan said on Friday that law enforcers in Davao City again conducted their regular operation which targets criminals and terrorists possibly lurking in the city. They started their operation at around 6 a.m.

They arrested seven wanted persons with criminal cases identified as Jonel Malones Dajao for violation of RA 9262 or The Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004; Crisanto Goles Delcano for violation of RA 7166; Begin Suelto Dablo for attempted murder; Marcial Tiozon Hinatuan for falsification of private document; James Semilla Demiren for attempted murder; Nickle Ebona Angelia for violation of PD 1602, and Maria Luna Daguman for violation of SSS Law.

Likewise, the series of operations resulted in the profiling of 1,449 residents. Of this number, 1,330 persons have identification cards while the other 119 don't have ID.

The operation was a joint security effort of different law enforcement units led by DCPO together with Task Force Davao (TFD), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agencies.

It was conducted in various police stations (PS) such as PS1 in Barangay 24-C; PS2 (Purok 4 Brgy 4-A); PS3 (Back of UM Matina Campus), PS4 (Lower Biao Carmen, Sasa), PS5 (Purok Ingan, Barangay Tigatto), PS6 (San Juan Budbud, Bunawan), PS8 (Purok 3, Barangay Lubugan, Toril), PS9 (Aglipayan, Barangay Sto. Nino), PS10 (Barangay Poblacion, Datu Abing St., Calinan).

Earlier, DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said the operation is effective in preventing the forming of criminal groups in a certain area and it also resulted to the drop of crime rate in the city.
