OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested three people and seized some P34,100 worth of illegal drugs in separate operations in the region, a top PDEA official announced on Sunday, February 4.
PDEA Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio identified the arrested suspects as Kairuddin Mamantal alias Hairuddin Maito, 37; John Rey Bantillo, 31; and, Madie Mallaning Daman, 36.
Aspacio said Mamantal was arrested in a drug bust around 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 2, at Purok 5 in the village of Taytay Manubo, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Confiscated from his possession were seven grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P24,500 and P200 marked money.
Bantillo was arrested in a drug around 4:30 p.m., Friday, February 2, in the village of Poblacion, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Seized from his possession were two grams of suspected shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets with P7,000 and P200 marked money.
Aspacio said that Daman was arrested in a drug bust last Thursday, February 1, at Sitio Tinambakan in the village of Maganda, Lamitan City, Basilan.
He said confiscated from the suspects were 0.18 grams of suspected shabu packed in nine plastic sachets worth P2,600; P200 marked money; and illegal drug paraphernalia.
He said the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
