DLPC turns over lab tools to public school

AS PART of its support to the Department of Education's (Deped) K-12 program, Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. (DLPC) in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation formally turned over electrical laboratory tools to Sto. Tomas National High School (STNHS) last January 10, 2018.

The formal turnover ceremony was held at the STNHS in the Municipality of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.

The project, which is dubbed as electrical laboratory (e.Lab) Plus, aims to provide Electrical Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and additional tools and equipment for e.Labs being used for the Electrical Installation and Maintenance Course (EIM). These e.Labs are those that were donated by Davao Light and the Aboitiz Foundation to public high schools within its franchise.

"We are grateful for Davao Light and the Aboitiz Foundation for the support that they have extended to Sto. Tomas National High School. This will truly help the students in enhancing their skills to prepare them soon in any electrical-related profession," said Atty. Allan Rey T. Montana, representative of Sto. Tomas Mayor Daniel Batosalem Jr.

Moreover, during the speech of Dr. AserSamsona, Principal of Sto. Tomas National High School, he stressed to the EIM students that their skills will be their source of income once they will have their own families. He also said to make good use of the tools that Davao Light has given as this will help them become globally competitive in the near future.

Also present during the ceremonial turnover were Davao Light's AVP and former Panabo branch head Engr. Ronald Chan, incoming Panabo Branch Manager Engr. Paul Michael Cazar, Community Relations Manager FerminEdillon, Davao Light team members, and the faculty and students taking up EIM course at STNHS. (PR)
