Silay City turns over P2.8-M police vehicles

THE City Government of Silay turned over two vehicles and four motorcycles amounting to P2.8 million to Silay City Police Station on Monday.

The turnover rites led by Mayor Mark Golez was held in front of the City Hall after the flag-raising ceremony, in the presence of Vice Mayor Joedith Gallego, and Councilors Tom Ledesma, Mildred Garay, and Demetria Aplaon.

The vehicles included two brand-new Honda 250 CRF dirt bikes, two units of Kawasaki Rouser 200 RS streetbikes, a Toyota Vios, and a Toyota Hilux.

The vehicles and motorcycles were accepted by Senior Inspector Ramil Robles, deputy chief of Silay City Police Station.

Golez said these vehicles will improve the quick response of police to any untoward incident.

He added that he is satisfied with the performance of the city police force.

“I’m giving him (Superintendent Noel Polines, city police chief) the highest eight for their efforts in maintaining peace and order in the city,” the mayor said.

Polines was not able to join the turnover rites because he attended a command conference at Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas in Iloilo City.

Polines said he is very thankful for the support the mayor and the city is giving to the police force.

He added that it will motivate them to do more to ensure that the peace and order is maintained.

With these vehicles, Polines said they will be able to provide better service to the people of Silay.

Before this, the city police has only one patrol vehicle.
