DUHA ka mga barangay sa lalawigan sa Sugbo ang gitudlo sa Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) isip regional nominees alang sa aduna’y labing limpyo ug greenest local government unit aron motigi sa Model Barangay on Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) lukop nasod.
Ang duha ka barangay mao ang Mayana sa dakbayan sa Naga ug Esperanza sa lungsod sa San Francisco, Camotes.
Matod sa EMB 7 nga napili ang duha base na usab sa initial nga validation sa tanang kwalipikado nga nominado sa LGUs.
Mao ra kini ang duha ka barangay nga napili lukop Central Visayas.
“The two barangays were initially chosen according to the provided guidelines in accordance to RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, our regional validation team will have to conduct the final validation and site visit to verify and confirm the best practices for endorsement to the Central Office for official nomination,” matod ni EMB 7 Regional Director William Cuñado.
Lakip sa miyembro sa regional validation team mao ang EMB 7 Solid Waste Management Section, representante gikan sa Department Interior and Local Government (DILG), Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. ug pipila sa LGUs.
Gihimo sa maong validation team ang final validation sa accomplishments ug best practices sa barangay Mayana niadtong Pebrero 5-6, 2018 samtang sa Barangay Esperanza niadtong Pebrero 7-9.
Napili ang mga nominado base sa pagpatuman niininsa Segregation at Source (SAS), Segregated Collection (SC), ang operationalization sa Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), ug ang pagpatuman sa City Ordinance subay sa Republic Act 9003 kun ang Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
Si DENR 7 regional director Gilbert Gonzales sa iyang bahin nagkanayon nga ang maong nationwide search naghatag og pasidungog ug mamahimong ehemplo sa ubang LGU sa pagpatuman niini sa Ecological Solid Waste Management.
“Through this, we would also like to develop a strong partnership with our LGUs and provide them with utmost technical assistance to mobilize all sectors to take part in transforming communities to be clean, safe and green,” matod ni Gonzales.
Ang search alang sa Cleanest ang Greenest LGU anaa na karon sa ikaduhang tuig diin aduna’y sumatotal 107 ka mga LGUs ang niapil niini sa rehiyon siete.
Ang mananaog mamahimong makadawat og cash prize gikan sa P340,000 ngadto sa P1 milyon nga gikatakda nga i-anunsiyo karong Hunyo atol sa selebrasyon sa Philippine Environment Month. (HBL)
