Baguio folk told to read the Bible

BAGUIO City officials and church leaders are urging the public to read the Bible and use it as a guide on how everyone should lead their lives.

They made their appeal during the city’s celebration of National Bible Month held recently at Malcolm Square spearheaded by the Baguio Character City Council with the theme, “The Bible is the Foundation of Righteous Leadership and Living”.

The program was preceded by a parade along Session road and participated by representatives from the city government, national line agencies, faith-based communities, barangay officials, the academe and others.

Mayor Mauricio Domogan said that people should not only read the Bible and mouth verses but be holy in their actions since action speaks louder than words.

“The Holy Bible is the proven guide in improving the spiritual, moral and social values of the community especially in these trying times,” he stressed.

For his part, Rep. Mark Go said that if we all will take to heart what the Holy Book teaches, then there would be no corruption and shenanigans in government and other sectors.

Bibles were then distributed to the participants after the program. (Gaby Keith)
