Man yields loose firearms in Liloan

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was arrested past 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, for allegedly keeping unlicensed firearms in Barangay San Vicente, Liloan town, Cebu.

Suspect Harold Ugsang Pepito yielded firearms and ammunition to the joint teams of Liloan Police Station and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Central Visayas led by chief inspectors Randy Korret and Lirio Coral.

The operation was authorized by a search warrant issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 18 Judge Gilbert Moises.

Pepito was brought to the detention cell of CIDG-Central Visayas's headquarters in Cebu City.

The firearms recovered from him were two .38 revolvers and a .22 air rifle. Two boxes of .22 pellets, three bullets of .38 revolver and a cylinder for air rifle were also seized from Pepito.

He will face illegal possession of firearms and ammunition before the Office of the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
