PDEA agents arrest fisherman in drug bust

MEMBERS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested a fisherman in a drug bust in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a top PDEA official announced Wednesday.

PDEA regional director Lyndon Aspacio identified the arrested suspect as Kimar Kasim, 27, a fisherman, of Purok Ilang-Ilang in the village of Taway, Ipil town.

Aspacio said Kasim was arrested in a drug bust operation around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, at Purok Daliah in the village of Taway.

He said confiscated from the suspects’ possession were three sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,500, aluminum foil, and P500 marked money.

He said the suspect will be charged for violations of Section 5 (Selling of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
