Bigfoot unused studio as storage for impounded vehicles

THE Cebu City Government will utilized the unused studio of the Bigfoot Entertainment Complex at the South Road Properties (SRP) as a temporary storage for all the vehicles that were impounded for violating the City’s counter-flowing policy.

In his news conference yesterday, Mayor Tomas Osmeña said that Michael Gleissner, owner of Bigfoot, already agreed to allow the City to use his property for free.

Unlike the current storage area at the SRP, Bigfoot’s facility is safer as it has a roof and walls that would prevent heat and rain from damaging the vehicles. Osmeña said he will assign members of the barangay intelligence network to guard the property.

Osmeña, however, said he is not certain how long Bigfoot will allow the City to use the private property.

More than 200 vehicles, mostly motorcycles, were impounded after its drivers were caught violating Executive Order 35 issued by Osmeña, which prohibits counter-flowing in all city roads.

As of yesterday, at least 28 motorcycles were impounded in Barangay Talamban.

Osmeña said that fewer violators were apprehended as drivers were already mindful of the counter-flowing policy. (RVC)
