PARK goers and the early evening crowd along San Pedro Street, Davao City were treated to a full concert of a brass band last February 1, 2018 at the Rizal Park as the Davao City National High School (DCNHS) Special Program in the Arts (SPA) staged its Brass Band Recital in time for the 2018 National Arts Month Celebration.

The students under the baton of Edilberto Roa Cadelina played 22 full arrangements from the classics to blues and contemporary from John Phili Sousa's "King Cotton March" to Brandon Beal's arrangement of "Twerk it like Miley".

The band, called "The Eaglestorm", is made up of seven sections made up of 38 SPA students.

Composing the Clarinet Section were Mary Grace A. Embradura, Danni Rose C. Romo, and Elijah Gil S. Cacho playing Clarinet 1; Emy Joy O. Mallorca, Rodel L. delos Reyes, and Ivan Jasper O. Morales on Clarinet 2, and; Kimberly A. de Cadiz, Loriefe R. Espedilla, and Darlene Jane C. Albino on Clarinet 3.

The Saxophone Section has Renzi Rey A. Buque on the Soprano, Lynard Anthony C. Melicor on Alto 1, Phoebe Kate J. Dingal on Alto 2, Faye Alexandra L. Pardillo, Art Jonathan C. Lawagon, Fritz Drexter A. Buque, and Lawrence Dave M. Manalo playing the horns, and Bryan L. Halasan, Angelo P. Araula, and Chester Dale B. Sausora on Tenor. On the Trumpets are Emman Gabriell C. Polancos, Christian Jan D. Ariola, Melchezedek S. Sumandang, Daniel Jeur L. Melecio, Lorenzo S. Lumpay II, Jezreyle A. Glodove, Emmanuel S. Cacho, Gabriel S. Alarcon, Joross S. Pacturan, and Ken Joshua M. Manalo. Playing the Trombones are Adrian M. dela Cruz, Neil John G. Violan, and Lester B. Realista, while Derek Anthony S. Dona plays the Baritone and Ivan Leo O. Posadas the Sousaphone.

On the Percussion are Nelmar James B. Mapayo, Leny G. Ando, Angelo C. Flores, and Rhon Danielle H. Orong.

Last Saturday, the band was practicing for the opening ceremonies of the Davao Regional Athletic Association Meet, which Davao City is hosting.
