DATELESS on Valentine’s Day? Not a problem! You can actually count yourself lucky for being spared the hassle and pressure of cooking up a grand gesture or a Valentine’s Day surprise for a special someone. But being single also doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the day of hearts. Whether you decide to go solo or spend the day catching up with family and friends, there are plenty of ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day. If you’re short on ideas, here are some things you can do on V Day.
1. Spend the day with your family.
Family is almost always first on the list if there is no girlfriend or boyfriend to go out with on Valentine’s Day. Take your parents and siblings out on a dinner date for some family
bonding after a long day at work or in school. Throwing a little surprise for mom and dad wouldbe a great idea, too!
2. Single friends unite!
Being single doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be alone on Valentine’s Day. Your single friends will surely be there to save the day! You can go bar or restaurant hopping, go on a day trip for some adventure or simply stay at home and binge-watch your favorite shows or Netfl ix series.
3. Grab a drink.
Who says alone time is boring? Some me-time with your favorite brew and a good book in your neighborhood café is certainly not a bad idea.
4. Show some puppy love.
Through all the heartache and heartbreak, your pet has been a constant companion. What better time is there to reciprocate their love than
Valentine’s Day? Taking your pup to the groomers for some pampering or going to the park for an afternoon walk will surely make them feel appreciated.
5. Get yourself a gift.
There’s no use sulking over not having a date, or for not getting a gift from a special someone for that matter. Get up, go out and get yourself that dress or pair of sneakers that you’ve been wanting to buy. While you’re at it, pamper yourself at the spa or the salon—you’ll thank yourself for it.
