FIVE suspected pushers, including two persons who are on the list of the top 10 drug personalities, were caught in a series of operations in Minglanilla, Cebu, over the weekend.
Some 12.65 grams of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were seized by the anti-narcotics operatives led by Chief Inspector Verniño Noserale, the town police commander.
The contraband has a Dangerous Drugs Board value of nearly P150,000.
Noserale identified the suspects as Jocelyn "Dede" Basalo Alforque (top 8 drug personality) and Elkie Vestil Alicaya (top 9).
Alforque and Alicaya were caught in Sitio Nazareth, Barangay Tungkop, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 9. They yielded 1.5 grams of shabu worth P17,700.
At 7:30 a.m. of February 10, Naga City residents Brian Kalimbas Villarta and Junver Bagatua Baritiana were arrested in Nazareth, Tungkop. Seized from them were 10.45 grams of shabu worth P123,310.
On the national highway in Barangay Tunghaan, at 6 p.m. of February 10, Florence Ang Miranda was captured. He yielded 0.7 gram of shabu worth P8,260.
The suspects will face complaints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
