WITH Valentine’s Day dawning, Shane Filan made everyone go red in love last Feb. 10 as he dropped by Cebu for his mall tour to promote his new album at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Ireland and UK’s beloved singer-songwriter and lead singer of Westlife met his adoring Cebuano fans and introduced his third solo album called “Love Always.”
The 12-track lineup is sure to woo hearts as Filan covers classic love songs like “Make Me Feel My Love,” “Eternal Flame,” “Beautiful in White” and his personal favorite, “Heaven.” The album also contains three original songs. Filan said this current compilation of classics is his offering to his fans.
His new single is called “Unbreakable.” Although he wrote some of his new tracks, “Unbreakable” wasn’t one of them but the 38-year-old clearly admires it.
Since he is introducing his album to the Philippines, he collaborated with Filipino bossa nova singer Sitti. “She’s a great singer,” said Filan.
He told the media in a press conference that like every artist, he comes on stage ready to wow the audience. And when he is recording his songs, he pictures the reaction of his adoring fans.
Following years spent creating music, Filan said he is just enjoying where his career is taking him. And his Cebuano fans are also enjoying his career, and were over the moon with his performance last Saturday, singing along to classics like “Uptown Girl.”
“Yesterday, I did a show at another Robinsons mall and it was just so incredible,” Filan raved about his Filipino fans, even remembering some of his tours in the country during his Westlife days: “We always have this amazing connection with the Filipino fans.”
With his singing career in full swing, the doting husband and father of three still finds quality time doing normal family stuff. His family will always be his priority.
His throng of Cebuano fans hope that he would keep his promise of coming back to the Philippines to do a major concert.
